Our Project Preparation Process
- Survey & Site Planning: We’ll help you determine the specific survey requirements for your local municipality. While surveys typically take 2–3 weeks and are handled as a separate cost from our initial quote, we provide the guidance needed to keep your project on track.
- Engineered Drawings: For specialized structures or walls exceeding 4 feet in height, Georgia law requires certified engineering plans. These drawings detail the structural integrity and specific materials required; American Land Management can personally manage this engineering phase for you.
- Permitting: Navigating local building codes can be complex, but we make it simple. We identify exactly which county or city forms you need and factor this coordination directly into our quotes so there are no surprises.
- Site Prep & Compliance: Before the machines arrive, we ensure your site is fully compliant. This includes installing required siltation controls, safety fencing, and posting all necessary permits. Once the initial inspections are cleared, we move straight into the “green light” phase of construction.
Once Work Begins
- Utility Marking: Safety is our top priority. Before any digging starts, 811 Utility Locate will visit your property to mark all underground lines. These markers are vital for preventing damage to your services—please ensure they remain undisturbed throughout the project.
- Mobilization: Once the site is cleared for work, we will begin transporting our heavy machinery and materials to your property. Because our equipment is industrial-grade, we ask that you maintain a safe distance during delivery. We’ll provide you with clear arrival timelines so you know exactly when to expect us.
- The Build Phase: Our team works efficiently to minimize disruption and keep your site orderly. We understand that construction can be messy, which is why we include grading, straw, and seeding for any disturbed lawn areas as part of our cleanup process. Please keep in mind that heavy Georgia rain can impact our schedule by approximately three days per weather event.
- Managing Unforeseen Conditions: Subsurface work can occasionally reveal surprises, such as large rock deposits or unsuitable soil conditions. If we encounter any “hidden” obstacles, we will communicate with you immediately to discuss the best course of action and find a practical, honest solution.
- Site Safety & Warnings: To ensure everyone’s safety, please keep children and pets away from the active construction zone and heavy machinery. Additionally, certain tasks may create dust; we recommend keeping nearby windows and doors closed and staying clear of active cutting or grinding areas for your health and safety.
